IMMELMANN DOWNS

The land that Immelmann Downs rests upon was purchased in 2021 by Jon and Coreen Schaafsma. It lies minutes from historic downtown Paris, Kentucky in Bourbon County proper. The once prime tobacco land is slowly being developed into fenced fields of bluegrass that are deeply entrenched with limestone deposits. The rolling downs are prime grounds for growing young foals into strong future athletes. Once you visit, it is no wonder Kentucky is the horse capital of our country.

Jon retired from the United States Marine Corps in 2022 after 20 years of service and is now a pilot for UPS. Coreen is a nurse anesthetist at the University of Kentucky. Together, they share two boys, Kent and Brock, that are developing an interest in riding.

Together we hope to develop Immelmann Downs into a breeding farm that produces future athletes with the pedigrees and talent to reach the top levels of competition.
